How do claims work?
Although the process varies slightly between insurers, making a claim is often straightforward:
Step 1: Visit your GP
If you're experiencing symptoms, you'll normally need to see your GP first. Your GP may recommend further investigation or refer you to a specialist.
Step 2: Contact your insurer
Before arranging treatment, you'll usually contact your insurer. They'll check whether your condition is covered and explain the next steps.
Step 3: Receive authorisation
If your claim meets the policy criteria, the insurer will authorise eligible treatment.
Step 4: Access treatment
You'll then be able to arrange consultations, tests or treatment through approved specialists and hospitals within your policy network.
Checking with your insurer before proceeding with treatment can help avoid unexpected costs later on.
